August 2 – City Clerk's "Dog Day on the Green" at Soldier Field Green Area at South Museum Campus Drive, 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 pm. It's a day for dogs and their families to come together to enjoy a fund day at the park. Concord, right behind the Home Depot on North Avenue. Volunteers will scrub and fluff your pet for just $10 while you enjoy donuts, coffee and other goodies. September 9 – Our annual "Big Night celebrity chefs event" gets bigger and better every year! Join us once again from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m. under the Tiffany Dome at the Chicago Cultural Center for an evening of great music, wonderful food from more than a dozen of Chicago's top chefs including organizer Jackie Shen of Red Light Restaurant fame, an open wine & muttini bar, and an exciting silent auction. This year, Stephanie Izard, winner of Bravo's "Top Chef" cooking competition show, will be among our illustrious cast of fine chefs. Click here to purchase tickets.

Chicago Wolves games – Throughout the 2008-2009 hockey season, the Chicago Wolves team hold adoption nights for our animals at the Allstate Arena through the "Brian's Barkin' Buddies" program. We're usually scheduled for one Saturday game each month. Volunteers are always on hand game night, each of us chaperoning an adorable, adoptable ACC pup and talking them up to their potential adoptive families. To be part of the fun as a volunteer, you must attend one of our orientation sessions at the shelter first. To adopt a dog, check Wolves ticket information and game schedule at www.chicagowolves.com.
